Fostering Learning Through Urban Murals@International Geographical Congress 2024 Dublin, Ireland

On August 26, 2024, Patrycja Grzyś, a member of our team from the University of Lodz (Poland) participated in the International Geographical Congress (IGC 2024) in Dublin, delivering a presentation titled “Fostering Learning Through Urban Murals: An Exploration of Łódź’s Public Art Landscape.” Her work explores the intersection of public art, urban spaces, and informal education, focusing on the role of Lodz’s iconic murals in shaping both the city’s identity and fostering community-based learning. The research highlights how murals in Lodz not only serve as visual landmarks but also act as tools for social engagement, promoting historical awareness, cultural reflection, and community collaboration.
IGC 2024, a prestigious global event gathering geographers and researchers from all over the world, focuses on discussing innovative solutions to global challenges. This year’s congress, held in Dublin, brought together experts from diverse fields to explore the theme of “Celebrating Diversity and Inclusivity.”
